What Work is Taking Place?

  • Geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring is required for the protection of the existing buildings and underground utilities by monitoring movements of the ground, support of excavation, utilities, structures and groundwater regime, prior, during and following construction in order to assess the need for implementation of mitigation measures.
  • Crews will drill boreholes in the Mount Pleasant Station area to install geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring equipment.

Timing

  • Crews will be working in the area the week of April 10 - April 14.
  • Work may take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM.
  • This work may be rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Equipment and work trucks will be present along the Eglinton Avenue East, between Rawlinson Avenue and Brownlow Avenue, and on Mount Pleasant Road just north and south of Eglinton, as crews move from one hole to the next.
  •  Nearby residents and businesses can expect to hear noise related to drilling, saw-cutting, hydro-vaccing, and the use of heavy equipment.
