Telecommunication Utilities Relocations for Laird Station
What Work is Taking Place?
Crews will relocate existing telecommunications utilities from overhead to underground around the Eglinton Avenue and Laird Drive intersection. For the safety of the public and workers, temporary pedestrian and traffic changes will be in effect to accommodate this work.

Overnight CCTV Investigations along Eglinton Avenue East
What Work is Taking Place?
Crews will be conducting CCTV investigations of the storm and sanitary sewer lines along Eglinton Avenue East. Crews will access all manholes in the roadway along Eglinton Avenue East between Midland Avenue and Laird Drive, along Transway Crescent at Kennedy Station and from approximately 50-100 meters north at all intersections to determine the condition of existing storm and sanitary lines.

Update: Shoring and Excavation Work Continues for Laird Station
Since June 2016, shoring and excavation work has been underway within the main and secondary entrance sites for the future Laird Station. In January 2017, the long-term road occupancy and sidewalk closure is expected to begin and will remain for the duration of the work – upwards of 40 months. Lire la suite »
Update: Traffic Light Works at Laird Station
What Work is Taking Place?
Crews will begin to relocate traffic lights around the Eglinton Avenue East and Laird Drive intersection. Crews will also install a temporary signalized pedestrian crossing on Eglinton Avenue East, just west of Don Avon Drive. Pedestrian Safety near Construction Sites
Construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT line, including 15 underground stations, is underway. Since the end of school, many construction sites have been set up for station construction and the set-up of some major intersections along Eglinton Avenue has been changed.

Hydro Utility Relocation for Laird Station
What work is Taking Place?
Crews will relocate and upgrade existing overhead hydro utilities near the Eglinton Avenue and Laird Drive intersection. Once relocated, outages will be required to switch services to the new infrastructure. Outage impacts will be communicated separately only to those directly impacted by the outages.

Tunnelling: What You May Experience
As you may know, the Eglinton Crosstown includes a 10-kilometre underground portion, between Keele Street and Laird Drive. For the tunnelled portion, locomotives run along interim track and transport materials and haul spoils in and out of the tunnels to the extraction shafts. Tunnel boring machines (TBMs) and muck removal operations run around the clock - 24 hours a day. Lire la suite »
