Laird Drive

The Eglinton Crosstown LRT tunnel boring machines 'Don' and 'Humber' will begin their journey westward on September 29, 2015, marking another milestone toward the completion of the new LRT. 

The westbound tunnelling will start from the launch shaft located east of Brentcliffe Rd. and will proceed towards Yonge St. Work on the western segment of the tunnel has been underway since June 2013 with four of the 6.5 kilometres already complete. What phase of work is starting in the vicinity of Sutherland Drive? 

What:  Crews will build the Laird west headwall on the north side of Eglinton for the future Laird Station in advance of tunnel construction. Headwalls are underground support walls located at the east and west ends of the station location. Also in this area will be a holding/storage area for work associated with jet grout during headwall construction. Lire la suite »

What: Monitoring equipment will be installed at major intersections along Eglinton Avenue East. This equipment will measure noise and vibration that may be related to the work of our tunnel boring machines underground. Le projet Eglinton Crosstown est une ligne de transport léger sur rail (TLR) de 19 kilomètres qui longera Eglinton Avenue au cœur de Toronto et comprendra un tunnel souterrain de 10 kilomètres dans sa section centrale.
