What Work is Taking Place?

In preparation for the construction of Cedarvale Station, several storm and sanitary sewers must be reconfigured prior to the commencement of the support of excavation works. As part of one of these relocations, an existing connection must be enabled in one of the storm sewers at Cedarvale Park.

Crews will occupy a small portion of the park in the vicinity of an existing manhole (see picture below) in order to conduct the works.

Timing

  • Work is expected to begin as early as July 4, 2017 and is expected to be completed within two weeks.
  • Work is permitted between the hours of 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be delayed due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Equipment and work trucks will be present between the Phil White Arena parking lot and the work site.
  • A portion of the Park (pictured above) will be fenced off for the safety and security of those using the Park.
  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect to hear noise related to drilling, saw-cutting, and the use of heavy equipment.
  • Existing pedestrian walkways and property access will be maintained at all times.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
