Temporary Pedestrian Change at Fairbank Station

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

  • To accommodate wet utilities work on the southwest corner of the intersection, a change to the pedestrian crossing at Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West has been implemented.  
  • The south crosswalk is closed and the west, east and north crosswalks are open.  
  • The temporary condition will be in place for approximately one (1) week.  
  • Upon completion, the south sidewalk will be reinstated and the east crosswalk will be closed again.

Traffic and Pedestrian Changes at Fairbank Station - February 2018

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

In late January, piling on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West will be complete and crews will move to the south side of Eglinton Avenue West to begin support of excavation activities, including piling, shallow excavation and roof slab construction.  This work will take place in several stages over a period of approximately eight (8) months.  In late 2018, crews will return to the north side of Eglinton Ave W to complete shallow excavation and roof slab construction. WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

As early as January 26, new construction staging and traffic and pedestrian changes will be implemented at Chaplin Station.  The southwest work zone will be extended south onto Chaplin Cres and the southeast work zone will be made smaller.

Wet utilities work, including watermain, storm and sanitary sewer installation and relocation, as well as support of excavation activities will occur during this stage.   Read more »

Temporary Driveway Alignment Change at 564 Eglinton Avenue West for Chaplin Station

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Beginning January 22, crews will be performing pile installation beside the driveway of 564 Eglinton Avenue West.  To make space for the crane pad, the alignment of the driveway on Eglinton Ave W will be shifted to the west for a period of one week.  Drivers may experience delays when entering and existing the driveway.  A flag person will be on site to assist with entry and egress.

Tunnel Connection Boreholes and Concrete Backfilling for the Main Entrance at Avenue Station
