August 19, 2016

Beginning in the mid-August, crews will be removing concrete surface pads and site facilities as part of the decommissioning of the Launch Shaft site at the northeast corner of Eglinton Avenue and Allen Road. As tunnelling has concluded, the launch site will continue to be dismantled over the next few months to make way for the station contractor.

Concrete pads will be broken up in order to provide a new working surface at the bottom of the shaft and at the surface for station construction. Office trailers and storage containers will be removed from the site. There will be the dismantling and removal of various equipment from site by trucks.  General site clean-up will continue into December 2016.

Some noise and vibration can be expected during the removal of the concrete pads and other decommissioning work. Noise and vibration monitoring equipment is in place to ensure noise and vibration levels are within municipal limits.
