WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

  • With the invert concrete slab now complete at the crossover track section east of Cedarvale Station, the next phase is pouring the roof slab. The roof slab will be poured in sections.
  • Due to the large size of these concrete pours, work will start at 4AM in order to complete the pour during the daytime hours, avoiding late overnight work.
  • The first pour was successfully completed on October 12.

TIMING

  • The second pour is scheduled for October 31 at 4AM.
  • Rain dates for this work are November 1, 2, and 3.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions of unforeseen circumstances.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Trucks will access the tunnel shaft from east of Allen Road and pump concrete into a pipe before it is poured into place.
  • Heavy truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone (approximately 1-2 trucks every hour).

NOISE MITIGATION EFFORTS

  • White noise/broadband back-up alarms on all equipment/trucks. Broadband back-up alarms, unlike traditional truck back-up alarms, are only heard within the hazard area.
