New Traffic Configuration: Wilson Brook Culvert East of Sloane Avenue

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Work on the Wilson Brook Culvert has been underway since late August 2018 on Eglinton Avenue East. Crews are building a temporary storm drain line, as well as excavating and replacing the storm water culvert under Eglinton Ave East. 

As work progresses, two new traffic configurations will be implemented (depicted below). The first stage will be implemented as early as February 8th, 2019 for up to two (2) weeks and the second stage will then be in place for up to four (4) weeks. Read more »

Updated: Hydro Utility Relocation between Birchmount Road to Kennedy Road

What Work is Taking Place?

In support of construction of the future Crosstown Light Rail Transit, crews will continue relocation and upgrading of existing overhead and underground utilities between Birchmount Road and Kennedy Road. Work began in June of 2017 and will continue for another six (6) months. Read more »

Massey Creek Culvert Work Begins

What Work is Taking Place?

As part of the ongoing works to build the LRT system along Eglinton Avenue East, crews will be replacing the existing culvert at Massey Creek. This work is expected to begin as early as mid-February 2019 for approximately six (6) months. The creek is located at the signalized intersection of Eglinton Avenue East and Rosemount Drive. CROSS PASSAGE 10 CONSTRUCTION WORKS

Starting as soon as February 4th, an assessment of the existing dewatering system will take place at the Cross Passage site between Lillian Street and Redpath Avenue. Assessment works will take approximately five (5) days. Following the assessment the dewatering system will be recommissioned and will operate on a 24 hour basis. Periodic maintenance will be required.

Overnight Storm Sewer Connection Work at Brownlow Ave January 2019

What Work is Taking Place?

On January 30, crews will return to Brownlow Ave and Eglinton Ave to connect to the new storm sewer system installed last year.  Concrete will be removed so that crews can access the manhole below ground.  From there, concrete chipping and reforming will take place allowing the crews to connect to the new storm sewer infrastructure.  This work will be performed 24 hours per day.

Updated: Resumption of Overnight Wet Utilities Work at Forest Hill Station January 24, 2019

What Work is Taking Place?

Crews have been completing overnight wet utility and hydro utility installation work at Forest Hill Station since September 2018; this work will continue through until mid-February 2019. 95% of all utilities relocation and installation work at Forest Hill Station have been completed.

Resuming January 24, 2019, overnight water main chamber construction will commence on Eglinton Avenue, east of Bathurst Street. Traffic in the vicinity of the work area will be reduced to one (1) lane only, alternating in each direction.  Read more »

Overnight Closure of Temporary Access Road for Utility Work

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

To facilitate the ongoing utility relocation at the future Kennedy Station, there will be overnight closures of the Temporary Access Road.

Work began on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 and was scheduled for approximately three (3) nights. Due to extreme cold temperatures the work was incomplete. Crews will resume sleeving out wires on the hydro lines at the temporary access road on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. Read more »
