What work is taking place?

Beginning in late October, crews will be relocate an existing watermain in the vicinity of Dufferin Street, Eglinton Avenue West and Vaughan Road to make way for support of excavation (shoring) activities on the north and south sides of Eglinton Avenue West.  Water shut-offs and lane reductions will be required.  To minimize the impact to the affected properties and traffic, overnight work watermain work will be required on approximately ten (10) dates between Monday October 30, 2017 and January 2018.

Traffic on Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street will be reduced to one lane only. 

Properties affected by water shut-offs will be notified separately.

·      Please note that additional lane closures in the vicinity of Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West, and at the north end of Vaughan Road will be required.

Hours of Work

 Overnight work will take place between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. on the following dates:

 

  •  Monday October 30, 2017
  • Tuesday October 31, 2017
  • Wednesday November 1, 2017
  • Thursday November 2, 2017
  • Friday November 3, 2017


What to Expect

  • Lane reductions on Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street will be required.
  • Noise from construction activity as well as site lighting can be expected.
  • Water shut-offs will be required. Properties affected by water shut-offs will be notified separately.
  • Pedestrians and vehicle traffic can expect delays when traveling through the intersection. 

Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts

  • Traffic on Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street will be reduced to one lane only with traffic alternating in each direction controlled by a Paid Duty Officer or flag person.
