 What Work is Taking Place?

On Sunday, November 26, crews will be performing watermain service work as well as hydro work at the intersection of Mt. Pleasant Road and Eglinton Avenue East. Cutting and capping of the existing watermain is required to accommodate the piling operation. This work will take place within the work zone on the northeast corner of the intersection.

A water shut-off is required while this work takes place. To minimize the impact to the affected properties, this work will be performed overnight. Hydro work will take place within the existing manhole on the southeast side of Eglinton Avenue East.

Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one lane of traffic while this activity takes place.

  • 300 Eglinton Avenue East

  • Date: Sunday November 26, 2017
  • Time: 11:00 p.m.
  • Duration: Approximately seven (7) hours

Hours of Work

  • This work will be performed overnight to minimize disruption. 
  • Sunday, November 26, 2017 beginning at 11:00 p.m.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances (equipment failure, etc.).

What to Expect

  • Some noise from construction equipment.
  • Site lighting can be expected.
  • Motorists can expect delays when travelling through the intersection.

Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts

  • Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one shared lane for eastbound and westbound traffic while this work takes place.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near construction zones.
