What Work is Taking Place?

Beginning in early-January 2017, and pending permit approval, crews will start support of excavation work, also known as shoring, at the future Leaside Station. The station is located at the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East, with the main station entrance on the southeast corner and the secondary entrance on the northwest corner. Steel piles as well as braces and tie-backs will be installed around the perimeter of the station box and entrances to support excavation.

Crews will begin working within the station entrances first, and then proceed to works in the roadway once shoring within the station entrances is complete. Works in the roadway will be completed in stages designed to minimize impacts; completed portions will be covered with wooden decking. Additional communications regarding works in the roadway will be distributed in early 2017.

Hours of Work
  • This work will be conducted Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion
  • In the event that overnight work is required, Metrolinx and CTS will notify the public in advance and monitor activities throughout
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances
