What Work is Taking Place?

Beginning in early to mid-November, and pending permit approval, crews will start support of excavation work, also known as shoring, at the future Forest Hill Station.  The station is located at the intersection of Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue West, with the main station entrance on the northeast corner and the secondary entrance located mid-block on the northwest corner. Steel piles as well as braces and tie-backs will be installed around the perimeter of the station box and entrances to support excavation.  Once shoring of the area is complete, an area of approximately six meters will be excavated and a large concrete slab will be poured in the excavated area followed by reinstatement of the roadway.

Shoring will be conducted in four phases, beginning in the roadway on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West. The first phase will take approximately twenty (20) weeks to complete. The entire shoring process will take approximately fifteen (15) months to complete.
