Tower Crane Installation at Science Centre Station

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

As part of the construction of the future Science Centre Station, crews will be installing a tower crane within the construction zone on Eglinton Avenue East, east of Don Mills Road. There will be a temporary change to the traffic configuration (depicted below) for a period of 12 hours to accommodation the installation. Upon completion of the installation traffic setup will revert to current conditions for the remainder of the stage.

TIMING

  • The work will begin as early as 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019 and continue to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

  • Westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to two lanes at Don Mills Road.
  • All pedestrian crosswalks at the intersection will remain open.
  • Paid duty officers will be on site.
  • Road users can expect delays when travelling through the work zone.
