WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

As early as January 15, new construction staging and traffic and pedestrian changes will be implemented at Chaplin Station.  The southwest work zone will be extended south onto Chaplin Cres and the southeast work zone will be made smaller.

Wet utilities work, including watermain, storm and sanitary sewer installation and relocation, as well as support of excavation activities will occur during this stage.  

Significant traffic and pedestrian changes will be in effect.  Please carefully review the map and details.


TIMING 
  • Changes will be implemented as early as January 22, 2018.
  • The construction staging and traffic and pedestrian changes will be in effect for approximately 1.5 months.
  • Permitted working hours are 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM, seven days a week. 
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Some overnight work may be required and notification will be provided separately.
WHAT TO EXPECT
  • Noise from construction activity as well as site lighting can be expected.
  • For safety, fencing, scaffolding, barriers and dust cloth will be erected.
  • Expect delays when travelling through the intersection.
TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
  • The west crosswalk will be closed and east crosswalk will be reinstated.
  • The south crosswalk will be shifted further south.
  • The southwest west work zone will be shifted further south.
  • Gilgorm Rd and southbound Latimer Ave will remain closed at Eglinton Ave W.
  • The north driveway at 321 Chaplin Cres will be closed.
  • Turn prohibitions in the vicinity of Eglinton Ave W and Chaplin Cres will be in effect.
