WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

On Monday June 18, 2018, a new traffic stage will be implemented at Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West to accommodate the ongoing support of excavation activities for Fairbank Station, including piling and shallow excavation.  Please carefully review the map, as new pedestrian and roads changes will be in effect.

TIMING

  • As early as Monday June 18, 2018 for several months
  • Permitted hours are 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Fencing, scaffolding, concrete barriers and dust cloth will be erected around work zones and pedestrian paths.
  • Noise from construction activity as well as site lighting can be expected.
  • Pedestrians and road users can expect delays when travelling through the intersection.

TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

  • Traffic on Eglinton Avenue will be shifted to the north.
  • Traffic on Dufferin Street will be shifted to the west.
  • The east pedestrian crosswalk will be temporarily closed.
  • The southeast pedestrian rerouting will remain in effect.
  • TTC bus stops may be relocated away from construction zones.
  • On-street parking may be temporarily eliminated to accommodate construction – three (3) hour on-street parking is available on Livingstone Ave (one street north of Eglinton Avenue).
