Update: Resumption of Overnight Utility Relocation Work on Transway Crescent for the Future Kennedy Station

What Work is Taking Place?

As part of construction of the future Kennedy Station, crews will resume relocating watermain and sanitary utilities on Transway Crescent, starting as soon as July 15, 2018.

To reduce impacts to the community and commuters this work will be performed overnight and will take approximately three (3) weeks to complete.  The work is part of the larger upgrade and relocation of utilities for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

Toronto Hydro Work Relocation across Yonge Street

What Work is Taking Place?

To prepare for the construction of Eglinton Station, crews will begin the next phase of re-routing existing hydro utilities in the vicinity of Eglinton Avenue and Yonge Street.  

For this next stretch of the work, crews will be working to install new Toronto Hydro infrastructure within the City of Toronto’s public right-of-way across Yonge Street. Crews may use a hydro-vacuum truck, excavators, jack-hammer and other construction equipment to complete the work. Read more »

What Work is Taking Place?

As part of construction of the future Eglinton Crosstown LRT, improvements are also being made to the GO Transit Stouffville Corridor at Kennedy GO Station. Improvements include building a new west platform; rebuilding the existing east platform; constructing a new ticketing building for the GO Station; and building a new south pedestrian underpass. UPDATE: Upcoming Traffic & Pedestrian Changes at Eglinton Station

What Work is Taking Place?

Support of excavation work, also known as shoring, has commenced to make way for the future Eglinton interchange station. This work will include pile installation, jet grouting and road deck installation. Shoring at the TTC bus depot and along south side of Eglinton has been complete. The work is carried out along the north side of Eglinton.

The next phase (depicted below) will take approximately 2-3 months to complete. The entire shoring process will take approximately twenty-four (24) months to complete. Read more »
