UPDATE: Nightly Lane Reductions at Fairbank Station

September 16 - 20, 2019


What Work is Taking Place?
 

Crews have begun their work on the east side of Dufferin St in the south lane of Eglinton Ave W, and will be finished as early as Friday September 13th. As early as Monday September 16th until Friday September 20th, crews will be reducing Eglinton Ave W from Dufferin St to Dynevor Rd to one lane from 7pm – 6am. The south lane will be closed to excavate and install pipe dewatering systems. Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West will remain open while this work takes place. While crews are in the intersection, one lane on Dufferin St will remain open.

Hours of Work

  • As early as Monday September 16th until Friday September 20th.
  • Eglinton Ave W will be reduced to one shared lane only from 7:00pm until 6:00am. Dufferin St will be reduced to one lane while crews work in the intersection. Upon completion, the intersection will reopen to two lanes.
  • Two-way traffic facilitated by traffic control personnel and Paid Duty Officers.
  •  In the event of inclement weather, this work will be rescheduled.


Construction Staging

Crews will be working on the east side of Dufferin St until Friday September 13th.

Fairbank closure Sep 16 2019

As early as Monday September 16th, crews will begin work on the west side of Dufferin St.

What to Expect

  • Crews will be excavating and installing pipe for dewatering along Eglinton Avenue on the south side, between Northcliffe Blvd and Dynevor Rd.
  • Crews have begun their work on the east side of Dufferin St. As early as Monday September 16th, crews will cross Dufferin St and work on the west side.
  • Upon completion of the works in the intersection, the intersection will re-open to two lanes.
  • There will be flagpersons directing traffic through the area for the duration of the work.
  • Overnight noise and lighting from construction activity can be expected.

 

Traffic Details

  • Access to properties at the intersection will be maintained.
  • The north, south, and east crosswalks at the intersection will remain open. The west crosswalk will remain closed.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
  • Travel delays are expected with construction. Please allow extra time for your journey.
