UTILITIES CROSSINGS AT THE DON VALLEY PARKWAY RAMPS

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

In support of the construction of the Crosstown LRT tracks and guideway (dedicated transit lane) in the center of Eglinton Avenue East, crews will be relocating utilities infrastructure crossing the Don Valley Parkway on/off ramps at Eglinton Avenue East. To accommodate these construction activities, closures of all Don Valley Parkway on/off ramps will be required (depicted below).  Work will occur May 24th, 2019 to May 27th, 2019. These activities are being coordinated in conjunction with a City-initiated closure for maintenance activities. Eglinton Avenue East will temporarily be reduced to one eastbound and one westbound lane

TIMING

Work will begin as early as May 24th, 2019 and continue until May 27th, 2019.

  • This work may take place between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Closures of the Don Valley Parkway on and off ramps at Eglinton Avenue East.
  • Crews will be excavating, relocating utilities infrastructure and re-paving.
  • Eglinton Avenue East will temporarily be reduced to one eastbound and one westbound lane.
  • Advanced signage will be installed informing motorists of the traffic restrictions.
  • These activities are being coordinated in conjunction with a City-initiated closure for maintenance activities.

PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

  • The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Ave E will remain closed between the East and West Don Valley Parkway ramps.
  • Pedestrian crossings at ramps will be adjusted around the work zone where applicable, detours will be clearly marked with signage to direct pedestrians to the alternate routes.
