Hydro Utility Upgrades and Relocation on Eglinton Avenue between Sloane Avenue and Victoria Park Avenue

What Work is Taking Place?

Crews will rebuild the hydro structure in the vicinity of Sloane Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East and relocate overhead hydro wires between Sloane Avenue and Victoria Park Avenue. In preparation for construction of the future Sloane and O’Connor surface stops and future guideway running in dedicated transit lanes in the centre of Eglinton Avenue, this work is necessary to accommodate the future road alignment. Overnight Stormwater/Sanitary Relocation for Science Centre Station: Eglinton Lane Reductions & Closure of Ferrand Drive

What Work is Taking Place?

Crews will relocate an existing stormwater line on the north side of Eglinton Avenue East from just west of Don Mills Road to approximately Gervais Drive and make connections to existing infrastructure on the south side of Eglinton to support the upgrade of existing water infrastructure at the future Science Centre Station. In an effort to minimize disruption to local traffic and commuters, work will be performed overnight in stages. Read more »

In late October, crews began relocating an existing watermain in the vicinity of Dufferin Street, Eglinton Avenue West and Vaughan Road to make way for support of excavation (shoring) activities on the north and south sides of Eglinton Avenue West.  Read more »

Gantry Crane Delivery and Installation at Avenue Station Secondary Entrance

What Work is Taking Place?

Beginning Wednesday November 22, a large overhead Gantry Crane will be delivered to Avenue Station and installed at the Secondary Entrance site.  

Several truckloads of large steel columns that the overhead crane will sit on will be delivered to the site.  Due to the size of these deliveries, trucks will be backed-in to the existing construction zone east of Avenue Road through the west gate.  Short traffic interruptions can be expected while these deliveries take place.
